Weather Update: Mandous to heavily affect South India while coldwave asserts its dominance in North; Know complete forecast

Weather Update: The chilly winds coming from the Himalayas, combined with rain and snowfall in the highlands, have been steadily lowering the temperature in the plains of North India for the past several days. The temperature is steadily dropping in various states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. A cold wave is affecting several areas.

In the meantime, rain is expected in the states of South India even today. Actually, the low pressure region over the Bay of Bengal has evolved into a deep pressure area and is today expected to intensify into cyclonic storm "Mandous." The southern states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andaman and Nicobar are predicted to see heavy to extremely rainfall for the ensuing several days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Delhi

As per the latest weather update, the national capital is predicted to remain sunny throughout the day. Though, due to cold, the fog will continue to intervene but only in early mornings and late nights. The days are predicted to remain clear. For today, the maximum temperature will be 27 degrees while the minimum will be 12 degrees.

Mumbai

IMD predicts that the MUmbai wil remain partially cloudy. However, a major change in weather pattern is highly unlikely. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees while the minimum will be 22 degrees.

Chennai

The city is likely to drench in heavy rianfalls, as already mentioned above. The city will remain affected by the heavy rainfalls for upcoming few days. The effect of 'mandous' is likely to keep the city wet continously. For today, the maximum temperature will be 26 degrees while the minimum will be 25 degrees.

Kolkata

Kolkata is predicted to remain partly cloudy for today. However, as per the latest reports, the city is expected to continue its flow of being pleasant, irrespective of hazardous situations in rest of the parts of the country. Maximum temperature for today will be 28 degrees while the minimum will be 17 degrees.

Northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh are predicted to experience heay rainfalls. Due to the Western Disturbance, snowfall and rain have been falling on the mountains in Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for the past few days.
