People's lives are difficult these days in North India due to the extreme cold. The extreme cold that can cause anxiety and problems has prompted the Meteorological Department to issue a warning for several states, including Uttar Pradesh.

In isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, in isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, in north Rajasthan, in north Madhya Pradesh, in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, in Assam & Meghalaya, and in Mizoram & Tripura, there is probably dense to very dense fog. There is a high probability of cold weather in certain areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, as well as in isolated areas of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. It is advised that fishermen avoid the Comorin area, the Gulf of Mannar, the Maldives, and the southeast Arabian Sea, which is adjacent to the Equatorial Indian Ocean and parts of Lakshadweep and the Maldives, as these areas are likely to experience squally weather with wind speeds of 40–45 kmph with gusts up to 55 kmph.
