Weather Update: The Meteorological Department predicts that on April 18, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and the capital city of U.P, i.e, Lucknow will likely have rain with lightning. The residents of Delhi are occasionally able to escape the heat wave thanks to infrequent downpours and occasionally overcast skies. In parallel, a heatwave alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for several states in the nation including Goa and Kutch today. In addition, rain is expected to fall today in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, as per the Meteorological Department.

According to IMD, there is a probability of rainfall over Assam, West Bengal and Sikkim. Over the Kerala and Karnataka, hot weather is most likely to prevail. Heatwaves with temperatures reaching up to severe levels are predicted to occur in few parts of Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu. The same is for Puducherry and selected parta of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Over Maharashtra, warm night conditions are expected to prevail in a few isolated areas. Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand is likely to have cloudy conditions today.
