Weather Update: An IMD report states that extremely heavy rain is expected in Assam, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura. However, until June 6, there is a high chance of rain across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. With temperatures predicted to surge over the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave advisory for many states in northern( including cities like Delhi and Lucknow), central, and eastern India. However, strong surface winds are expected to reach the speed of 20 to 30 kmph during the day in Delhi. Moreover it is also expected that it may have the mostly clear sky. Due to the comparable weather expected today, the yellow alert will remain in effect.

The Indian Meteorological Department forecasts that there will be probably few areas of North East where extremely heavy rainfall can occur including Meghalaya. In isolated regions of states like Punjab, Maharashtra, Chennai, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu including Chennai, there has been heavy rainfall. However, there is a high probability of heat wave conditions in certain regions of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi. The same is predicted for many regions of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand(including Ranchi), and Odisha. The IMD predicted that Odisha and Bihar are expected to have hot weather conditions. The winds is likely to be between 35 and 45 kmph. It may be added with gusts up to 55 kmph. The regions across the Gulf of Mannar, the Comorin area nearby, the south Bob, the central Bay of Bengal, and the north Andaman Sea is likely to have very strong flow of wind.
