Weather Update: The coming days may bring rainfall to various regions across India, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD predicts a decrease in rainfall and thunderstorm activity over northwest India starting from Wednesday. However, a new episode of rainfall is anticipated to begin in the region from May 5. In the meantime, the occurrence of rainfall is expected to decrease over southern peninsular India starting from Thursday.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated locations in Arunachal Pradesh and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. There is a possibility of hailstorms accompanied by lightning in isolated areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds are expected in isolated regions of East Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe. Thunderstorms and lightning may affect isolated areas in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and South Interior Karnataka.
The national capital is projected to remain somewhat relief-ful today. Partly overcast conditions are likely in the region with patches of clouds taking over. Rainfall is likely in the isolated regions. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees while the minimum will remain at 22 degrees. Humdity will range between 60-55%.
Mumbai
Similar conditions are forecast by IMD for Mumbai and its suburbs. The day will begin with sky filled with partly clouds. However, the day will become clear just by noon. Humidity will be at 81% while the temperature will range between 32 - 27 degrees.
Chennai
As per the latest forecast, Chennai will experience moderate rainfalls today along with scattered thunderstorms. The day will remain mostly cloudy with humidity levels as high as 84%. The temperature will range between 33 to 26 degrees.
Kolkata has been forecast to have relief from now. No rains are likely in the region and day will also remain mostly sunny and bright. Humidity will be at 80% while the temperature will remain between 32 to 26 degrees.
