Weather Update: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a heavy rainstorm is predicted to persist over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan during the course of the next two days. On Monday, a yellow signal was issued for all the districts and moderate to isolated severe rainfall is likely in Delhi as well. Schools in Kanpur, Lucknow, Hapur, Aligarh, and Meerut were shut as well.
The previous few days have seen a lot of rain in Delhi and the NCR, which has caused severe traffic jams and flooding in some areas of the capital city, Noida, and Gurugram. For Monday, the weather office has issued red, orange, and yellow alerts for the majority of the districts in Uttar Pradesh. There is a yellow alert in effect for Noida and Ghaziabad.
Delhi

As mentioned above, similar weather is expected to continue in the national capital region for a couple of days more. IMD has also issued a alert for the capital which has been experiencing severe weather since last few days.
Mumbai
In the latest weather update, the agency has issued a yellow alert for the city and its suburbs as well. Mumbai had already been waterlogged and the situation is expected to get more stiff.
Chennai
Due to tropical disturbance, the city is predicted to be cloudy today while it is expected that thunderstorms will happen in the isolated parts.
Rainfall predicted in these states
Widespread rain with locally heavy falls is likely over Northeast and South India and its adjoining areas. West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to be lashed by heavy rains.
Fairly widespread rain is expected over western portions of Central India and West India, with locally heavy falls.

Fairly widespread rain with thunderstorms is on the cards over Andaman, Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathawada, Vidharbha, Chhattisgarh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Interior Karnataka and, Kerala and Mahe.
