Weather Update: With the beginning of 2023, a biting cold wave swept through several Indian states. To combat the harsh winters, people were observed gathering around bonfires. The minimum and maximum temperatures in January 2023 are expected to be below average over much of central India and surrounding regions of the peninsula, east, and northwest India, according to the forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The nation's capital experienced cold waves and dense fog too.
According to IMD, between January 1 and 3, there is a very good chance that Rajasthan's northern regions would experience cold wave conditions, which could get as severe as a severe cold wave in some places. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from January 1–4, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi from January 1–5, and West Uttar Pradesh on January 2 and 3 all had isolated pockets of cold weather.
The national capital is predicted to remain under the control of dense fog. Though, sun will come and shine bright, the morning conditions are likely to remain on the similar ends. For today, the maximum temperature will be 18 degrees while the minimum will be 6 degrees.

As per the latest weather update, Mumbai will remain cloud-free and hazy throughout the day. Also, there are no chances of rain affecting the city. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees and the minimum will be 21 degrees.
Chennai
The new year has begun rather pleasantly for Chennai, as IMD predicts clear day along with no chances of rain in the city for several upcoming days. The tempertaure for today will lie in the range of 29 to 24 degrees.
IMD predicts that Kolkata will continue its run of pleasant days. Though, the minimum temperature will continue to be on the lower end. For today, the maximum temperature will be 27 degrees while the minimum will be 15 degrees.
