Weather Update: For the past three weeks, a severe cold wave has gripped north and northwest India. Northwest India is anticipated to be affected by two successive Western Disturbances on January 18 and January 20. IMD has also issued yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, UP, Haryana, and Punjab. Because of these climatic conditions, the cold wave conditions over northwest India are expected to subside starting on January 19, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Tuesday and Wednesday, isolated ground frost conditions are expected throughout Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and West Uttar Pradesh. IMD has also issued yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, UP, Haryana, and Punjab. Up till January 18, isolated patches of dense to extremely dense fog are anticipated to occur across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
As per IMD, there will be an outbreak of cold today as well. The temperature went as low as 1.4 degrees yesterday. Moderate fog will also continue to impact the city while low temperatures continue to wreak havoc. For today, the maximum temperature will be 17 degrees while the minimum will be 4 degrees.
Mumbai
The city and its suburbs are likely to continue with the haze effect and gleaming sunshine throughout the day. Though, temperatures are currently on lower end, the trend is expected to last for a few days more. For today, the maximum temperature will be 28 degrees while the minimum will be 19 degrees.
Chennai
IMD predicts that Chennai will likely have some cloud cover and increased humidity today. Today's forecasted maximum and lowest temperatures are 29 and 23, respectively. This pleasant trend in city's weather will continue for several days.
Today will be a sunny day in Kolkata. The city's weather is expected to behave similarly for a few days following today. The maximum and minimum temperatures for today are predicted to be 26 and 17, respectively.
