Weather Update: There is a chance of isolated light snowfall in the following areas: over Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand and isolated light rainfall over Punjab on December 23, northwest Rajasthan, northwest Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat state on December 23, and Haryana on December 23. Over the next five days, there is a good chance of light to moderate rainfall in isolated areas over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, and the Lakshadweep region. In lower tropospheric levels, the Western Disturbance, viewed as a cyclonic circulation, is located over North Pakistan and its surroundings. A trough is located in middle and upper tropospheric levels, between Lat. 42°N/Lon. 58°E and Lat. 22°N/Lon. 67°E. At lower tropospheric levels, the Cyclonic Circulation covers the Equatorial Indian Ocean and the nearby Southwest Bay of Bengal.

Over the next five days, there is a good chance of dense to extremely dense fog in certain areas of Punjab in the morning. In isolated areas of Haryana on December 24 and 25, in northwest Rajasthan on December 24, in northwest Uttar Pradesh on December 25 and 27, in Assam and Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura, and in Odisha on December 23 and 24, dense fog conditions are most likely to occur in the morning. Northwest and Central India's minimum temperatures rose by roughly 2°C over the course of the next two days, and then showed no discernible change. East India's minimum temperatures rose by two to three degrees Celsius over the next three days, but then showed no discernible shift.
