Weather Update: Snowfall in the North, nights become chiller in the plains, know full forecast

Weather Update: The year is coming to an end, and the upcoming colder days and nights of the new year are also approaching. Right now, the wind is causing the temperature in the northern states to drop quickly. A few to numerous locations may experience light to moderate rainfall, and isolated thunderstorms or lightning are possible over Tamil Nadu on December 16 and 17, Kerala & Mahe on December 16–18, and Lakshadweep on December 17–18. On December 16 and 17, isolated, intense rain is also possible over Kerala and south Tamil Nadu. On December 16 and 17, there is a good chance of isolated snowfall or rainfall over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad. Over the next five days, there won't be any noteworthy weather over the remaining portions of the nation.

It is anticipated that the nighttime temperature will drop during the next week, meaning that residents of Delhi-NCR will likely experience lower temperatures. With a western disturbance expected to bring rain to the lower parts of the hill state and snow to the higher regions of Himachal Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual drop in the minimum temperature by 2-3 C. Squally weather with wind speeds of 40–45 kmph with gusts up to 55 kmph is expected to prevail over the Comorin area and the nearby Maldives; similarly, squally wind with speeds of 45–55 kmph with gusts up to 65 kmph is likely to prevail over the coast of Somalia and the surrounding southwest Arabian Sea. It is recommended that fishermen stay away from these areas.
