Weather Update: Temperature shifts gear, moves up ! Rain & hailstorm threat looms large, know forecast here

Weather Update: A number of places in the north and northwest have had rising minimum temperatures during the last two to three days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a strong Western Disturbance is forecast to start in the Western Himalayan Region on January 23 and be felt there until January 27. This is also projected to happen in the northwest Indian plains. In the upcoming week, there isn't expected to be a cold wave over north India.

In a press release, IMD notified, "Light isolated rainfall likely over Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh on 23rd and increase thereafter over the area with scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm activity during 24th-27th and over Delhi during 24th-27th January 2023."

Delhi

As per the latest weather update, Delhi and surrounding regions will continue to be partially cloudy. Not much of change is predicted in the weather trend for today. Although, natives are advised to be careful as rains are predicted to lash the region in upcoming week. For today, the maximum temperature will be 22 degrees, while the minimum will be 10 degrees.

Mumbai

Mumbai will continue its pleasant run as the day will shine bright today while the minimum temperature will be 19 degrees. The maximum temperature has been predicted to not go beyond 29 degrees as well.

Chennai

Chennai is expected to have similar chances, according to IMD. The IMD forecast for the next several days shows little change, indicating that the fine weather will continue. The maximum temperature today will be 29 degrees, while the minimum temperature will be 24 degrees.

Kolkata

In the remote areas of Kolkata, it will continue to be partly overcast, although the majority of the city will be bright. According to the most recent weather report, the next week will see a little increase in temperature. The high and low temperatures for today are 29 degrees and 18 degrees, respectively.

The cold wave will continue to move through today, but rain and hailstorms that are expected to hit the area in the next several days are expected to bring down temperatures. Additionally, the weather shift is anticipated to last for three to four days, which will intensify the already chilly situation.
