Weather update: Rain is expected to lash the national capital in the early hours of Tuesday morning, bringing relief to the residents of Delhi-NCR. “Light rain/thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (speed 30-40 Kmph) is very likely to occur at many places over Delhi in next 24 hours,” Delhi Disaster Management Authority said in its update.
The IMD also predicted thunderstorms over Jammu Kashmir, Gujarat and Karnataka. “Thunderstorm, lightning and light/moderate spell of rain very likely to continue over parts of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, south Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Karnataka, Kerala, interior Tamilnadu during next 06-08 hours,” IMD said.
Similar weather has been predicted for isolated parts of UP, Haryana, and Rajasthan. “Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of Rewari, Bawal (Haryana) Meerut, Modinagar (U.P.) Bhiwari (Rajasthan). Light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h,” the IMD predicted.
Delhi weather update
Partly cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall are predicted to keep temperatures in check in Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Mumbai weather update
Mumbai is expected to have a cloudy day with a humidity level of 74 percent. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be 34 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Kolkata weather update
Kolkata is expected to have a sunny day. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Tuesday are likely to be around 38°C and 29°C, respectively.
Chennai weather update
Chennai, too, saw some respite from the heatwave with the temperature dropping to two-three degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the Southern city will be 36 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
