Weather Update: February 2023 witnessed dry and warm weather conditions prevailing across the Northern Plains, making it the hottest February in the last 122 years. However, the last day of the month brought some respite with scattered rain and thundershowers over several regions including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan, and Western Uttar Pradesh. The rainfall activity continued on March 1st as well, bringing relief from the prolonged dry spell.

Starting from the night of March 1st, rainfall is expected to decrease, and the weather is anticipated to become clearer by March 2nd. The day temperatures have shown a decreasing trend over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, with a gradual increase expected from March 2nd onwards. Due to cloud cover over north India, minimum temperatures have shown an increasing trend. It is predicted that temperatures will decrease by 2 to 3 degrees over the Northern Plains in the next 48 hours, providing some relief from the recent heat wave.

Delhi

The national capital is forecast to remain mostly clear throughout the days. However, periodic clouds are likely to engulf the region in the evening. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees and minimum will be 18 degrees.

Mumbai

The city and its suburbs will continue with clear days and warmer temperatures. IMD has predicted no major change for the rest of week. For today, the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees and minimum will be 25 degrees.

Chennai

IMD predicts similar and pleasant run of weather in Chennai today as well. Though, evenings are likely to witness some moderate cloud cover. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees and minimum will be 23 degrees.

Kolkata

As per the latest weather update, Kolkata will continue with its spree of pleasant days. The temperature is likely to stay on the same note as well. For today, the maximum temperature will be 36 degrees and minimum will be 22 degrees.
