Weather Update: The IMD issued a red alert for West Bengal and Sikkim, indicating that extremely heavy rains are expected in these regions. According to the meteorological department, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are expected to see extremely heavy rains. Today, there can be heat waves in Rajasthan, Punjab, and the Jammu region as well. The IMD said there is a yellow alert in effect for the national capital and the suburbs, and there would be heavy rainfall. Mumbai is expected to see maximum and minimum temperatures of about 32 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively. Mumbai and its suburbs are predicted to see heavy rainfall as well.
The weather service has forecasted lightning and heavy rain in areas of Kanyakumari. According to the weather forecast for Chennai, the evening and nighttime hours will be partly cloudy with a chance of light to moderate rain, thundershowers, and lightning in certain places.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas across Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
