Weather Updates: IMD States Northwest to Receive Rain Today

Weather Updates: The Indian Meteorological Department said that rain is likely to increase in northwest India from today. Widespread rainfall is highly probable over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.

The reason for the increase in rainfall is due to a low-pressure area that is lying over the northwest Arabian Sea. The monsoon trough is likely to continue to move northwards over the next 2 days.

The western Himalayan region is likely to be affected by a fresh western disturbance. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is lying over East Rajasthan, extending up to lower tropospheric levels.

A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation to the West-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast.

Keeping these systems in mind, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rain and thunderstorm/lightning is highly likely over Jammu & Kashmir till July, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, north Punjab, and north Haryana-Chandigarh till July 31.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on July 28 and 29. Only isolated rain is likely over Delhi around July 28.
