Decisive Leadership of Prime Minister Modi

The Lok Sabha election dates have been officially declared, with the results slated to be announced on June 4th. Over the years, Modi government has taken several crucial decisions, whether it be demonetization, the Triple Talaq ban, the abrogation of Article 370, or making significant decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as implementing the CAA. In addition to these, Prime Minister Modi has taken many important steps in the interest of the nation. This has increased people’s trust in the Modi government. Many political experts believe that these factors could benefit the BJP in this election.

Indian Students Evacuation during Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Prime Minister Modi’s strategic diplomacy played a pivotal role in facilitating the evacuation of Indian students amidst the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Safely bringing back these students posed a significant challenge, but the government responded admirably. Despite the hostile atmosphere in Ukraine, the government initiated ‘Operation Ganga’ to rescue Indians and Indian students from the region. Notably, Ukraine’s airspace closure added to the complexity of the operation. Nevertheless, the Indian government organized flights from neighboring countries such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia, ensuring the safe return of Indian students to India.

Article 370, CAA, Ram Temple

The BJP made several promises to its supporters, including the revocation of Article 370, the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA), and the construction of the Ram Temple. The party has fulfilled these promises by abrogating Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir, implementing the CAA, and completing the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22nd of this year. The Ram Temple holds significant cultural and religious importance, generating enthusiasm across the nation. BJP leaders have attributed Prime Minister Modi for realizing a centuries-old dream. Many political analysts believe that the BJP’s confidence in securing a substantial number of seats in the upcoming election is largely buoyed by this wave of support surrounding the Ram Temple.

Growing GDP

According to the latest economic data released by India’s National Statistical Office, there has been an 8.4% growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during the October-December 2023 quarter, compared to a growth rate of 4.3% during the same period last year. This significant growth is attributed to the strong policies implemented by the Modi government. Prime Minister Modi himself shared this information on his social media platform, X. With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, the BJP could potentially leverage this economic achievement as a key talking point. It is believed that to some extent, this could prove beneficial for the Modi government’s electoral prospects.

Political Stability

From the general public to foreign investment institutes, everyone favors a government with stability. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar expressed confidence that India will witness a stable government for 15 years or more, emphasizing the critical role of long-term political stability in enabling administrations to make ‘bold’ decisions.
