Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said on Friday that the winter session of Parliament will start from December 7 and continue till December 29. He said in a tweet, ‘The winter session of Parliament will start from December 7 and will run till December 29. During this there will be 17 meetings in 23 days.
Prahlad Joshi was in the city on Friday under the ‘Parliament Migration Scheme’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He condemned the attack on the residence of BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind here.

Prahlad Joshi told reporters, “I condemn this attitude of TRS and its hooliganism.” He alleged that Telangana was earlier a surplus state, but now it has become a “debt-ridden” state.
Winter session of parliament amid elections
The winter session will begin at a time when Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are still in election fever. In Himachal Pradesh, polling for the assembly elections was held in a single phase on November 12, while Gujarat will vote in two phases on December 1 and December 5. The counting of votes of both the states will take place on December 8. BJP and Congress are against each other amid allegations and counter-allegations on civic issues.
Will be the first session with no restrictions
On the first day of the session, the members are likely to pay respect to the departed members. Samajwadi Party’s patron Mulayam Singh Yadav was one of those leaders. Also, this will be the first season with no restrictions.
Actually, several guidelines were put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus, which were removed. In the last two years, Covid has affected Parliament sessions as much as any other activity in the country.
In the Rajya Sabha, the new Speaker of the Upper House, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will also see the proceedings for the first time. The monsoon session began on 18 July and was adjourned on 8 August. The session had 16 sessions over a period of 22 days.
