To commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam the World Students’ Day is celebrated every year on October 15.
He embodied simplicity and a respectful personality. Though his presence is missed by every Indian, he continues to inspire all, particularly the youths.
This year the spotlight is on its theme “Youth Engagement for Global Action”.
Notably, in 2010, the United Nations declared October 15 to be World Students’ Day.

The 11th President, who served the nation from 2002 to 2007, was widely referred to as the people’s president and is also credited for India’s military missile systems as well as civilian space programmes.
