Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national spokesperson Anurag Dhanda has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is “troubled” in Gujarat, claiming that the state government has been arresting AAP leaders on a daily basis.

‘These are not Congress leaders’

In his post, Dhanda took a sharp jibe at the BJP, saying that AAP members are not like Congress leaders who can be intimidated. “These are common people who will uproot your base,” he said, stressing that AAP’s leadership is driven by the power of ordinary citizens rather than traditional political structures.

Rising political competition

Dhanda’s remarks come at a time when AAP is working to strengthen its organization in Gujarat, focusing on local issues such as employment, education, and corruption. The party has been trying to present itself as an alternative to both BJP and Congress in the state.

BJP’s reaction awaited
While the BJP has not officially responded to Dhanda’s statement, party sources maintain that AAP is resorting to baseless allegations to stay in the spotlight. According to them, any legal action taken against AAP leaders is based on evidence, not political motives.

Public sentiment and future strategy
Political analysts suggest that AAP’s aggressive tone indicates its intent to prepare for upcoming local and assembly elections in Gujarat. The party aims to mobilize the youth and working-class voters, projecting itself as the voice of honesty and change in the state’s political landscape.
