Anurag Kashyap undergoes angioplasty in Mumbai hospital

After feeling a mild discomfort in his chest, Anurag Kashyap was taken to the hospital for a check up. After blockages got detected in his heart, the director had to go through an angioplasty and is now recovering from the surgery.

His spokesperson confirmed the news and said that Anurag Kashyap is recuperating right now. He has been prescribed complete bed rest for a week before he can resume work.

On the work front, Anurag Kashyap will be teaming up with Taapsee Pannu in ‘Dobaaraa’. Dobaara marks Anurag and Taapsee’s third collaboration. The two last worked together in Manmarziyaan (2018).

The filmmaker had wrapped up the shooting for the film earlier in March this year. Be it his liberal use of explosions in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ film series or the way he uses real stories underneath some crazy fictitious elements, Anurag Kashyap always manages to astound his audiences in a good way.

For the unversed, earlier this year, the director was in the news after income tax raids were carried out at some of his properties in Mumbai. The IT officials who raided the official and residential premises of Anurag had then claimed to have found bogus expenditure of the director having tax implication of about Rs 20 crore. In a statement, the department had said, ‘During the searches, evidence of huge suppression of income by the leading Film Production house (Phantom films) compared to the actual box office collections has been unearthed. The company officials have not been able to explain a discrepancy of around Rs 300 crore.’
