In a major push against narcotics trafficking, Bhagwant Mann Police on Day 354 of its ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” arrested 110 alleged drug smugglers during coordinated raids across the state. Officials confirmed the seizure of 1 kg heroin, 2.7 kg opium, 419 intoxicant tablets or capsules, and ₹2,120 in suspected drug money.

Authorities said the latest action has taken the cumulative number of arrests under the statewide drive to 50,184 within 354 days, reflecting what officials described as a sustained and aggressive enforcement strategy against drug networks.

Police teams conducted simultaneous operations at multiple locations, targeting suspected supply chains and distribution points. Senior officers noted that the crackdown combines intelligence-based raids with local surveillance to dismantle trafficking modules operating in both urban and rural belts.

Alongside enforcement, the campaign also emphasizes rehabilitation. On the latest day of action, 36 individuals were counselled and encouraged to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the administration’s dual approach of strict law enforcement and social intervention.

The anti-drug initiative has been a key priority of the government led by Bhagwant Mann, which has repeatedly stated its commitment to eradicating narcotics networks while supporting recovery for those affected by addiction.

Officials reiterated that operations will continue with the same intensity in the coming weeks, warning traffickers that enforcement agencies remain on high alert and determined to curb the drug menace across Punjab.
