Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate fire that broke out at the revered Baba Barnewala Hanuman Temple in Dhanoa on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred while devotees were preparing langar, a traditional community meal, within the temple premises.
Several Devotees Injured During Langar Preparations
According to local reports, the fire spread rapidly during langar preparations, leaving multiple devotees injured. Many of them suffered burn injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Medical teams were deployed promptly to manage the emergency.

CM Bhagwant Mann said the Punjab government stands firmly with the affected families. He assured that all possible assistance, including medical aid and financial support, will be provided. The Chief Minister has instructed district administration officials to investigate the cause of the fire and ensure accountability.

Offering prayers for the injured, Mann stated, “We pray to the Almighty for the speedy recovery and safety of all those affected.” He also commended the emergency response teams for their swift action in containing the fire and rescuing the injured.

Preliminary inputs suggest that a cooking gas cylinder leak may have caused the flames, but confirmation will follow after a detailed probe.
