According to the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit, the government’s health card initiative, which provides medical coverage of up to ₹10 lakh, has helped many patients receive treatment without bearing heavy healthcare expenses. The party shared the example of an elderly beneficiary who reportedly underwent free knee surgery under the scheme and regained mobility after the operation.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has described the programme as part of the government’s commitment to improving public healthcare and ensuring affordable treatment for citizens across the state.

Party leaders stated that the health card facility is particularly benefiting people who are unable to afford costly surgeries and medical procedures.
