Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said every citizen’s life is precious and that the government launched the country’s first dedicated Road Safety Force with the objective of making roads safer and ensuring faster emergency response.

According to Cheema, the SSF has emerged as a strong safety presence on Punjab’s roads by providing immediate assistance to people involved in road accidents. He said prompt action by the force has contributed to reducing the impact of road mishaps and improving emergency response.
The minister added that the government’s continued focus is on strengthening road safety infrastructure and ensuring that accident victims receive timely help during the critical initial period after an incident.
The Punjab Government has maintained that the Road Safety Force is an important part of its efforts to enhance public safety, reduce road accident fatalities, and create a more responsive emergency support system across the state.
