For years, residents of the village have faced difficulties due to the accumulation of rainwater, which not only disrupted daily life but also caused severe damage to roads, farmlands, and houses. The new drain, initiated by the Bhagwant Mann government, will provide a permanent solution to this recurring problem and ensure that the excess rainwater is diverted safely away from residential areas.

According to officials, the construction is being carried out under the state government’s mission to improve rural infrastructure and address grassroots-level concerns of the people. The project is expected to be completed within a short time frame, bringing relief before the next heavy rainfall spells.

Bhagwant Mann government for prioritizing their demand

Local residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing gratitude to the Bhagwant Mann government for prioritizing their demand. Farmers in particular are hopeful that the drain will protect their agricultural fields from flooding, thereby saving their crops and reducing financial losses.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab, in a social media post, highlighted the government’s commitment to resolving people’s problems in a time-bound manner. The party stated that such projects reflect the seriousness of the Bhagwant Mann-led government towards improving the quality of life for common citizens, especially in rural constituencies.

The Bhagwant Mann government has been consistently investing in small yet impactful development works across Punjab, ranging from road construction and sanitation projects to water management and employment schemes. The rainwater drain in Jaito is another example of these people-centric measures.
