Bhagwant Mann Intensifies Anti-Drug Drive, 104 Smugglers Arrested on Day 406

Bhagwant Mann continued its crackdown under the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, registering major action on Day 406 of the drive. The operation led to the arrest of 104 drug smugglers from different parts of the state.

According to official data, the police recovered 1.8 kilograms of heroin, 18 kilograms of ganja, and 1,486 intoxicant tablets and capsules during multiple raids. Additionally, ₹6,750 in drug money was seized as part of the operation.

Bhagwant Mann: Statewide Raids and Action

The crackdown involved coordinated raids across several districts, reflecting the administration’s continued focus on curbing drug trafficking networks. Officials stated that consistent enforcement has been key to sustaining pressure on drug suppliers and distributors.

Rehabilitation Efforts Continue

Alongside enforcement, authorities are also focusing on rehabilitation. As part of the initiative, 33 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting a dual approach of strict action and social reform.

Over 58,000 Arrests So Far

Since the launch of the campaign, Punjab Police has arrested a total of 58,290 drug smugglers over 406 days. The figures underline the scale of the ongoing operation and the state’s aggressive stance against narcotics.

The anti-drug drive is being carried out under the leadership of the state government headed by Bhagwant Mann, with authorities reiterating their commitment to making Punjab drug-free through sustained enforcement and awareness measures.
