In a public message, Mann said several Punjabi residents and workers are encountering hardships due to ongoing hostilities in parts of the region. He urged affected individuals or their family members to immediately contact the state’s NRI Wing so that authorities can provide timely help and relay verified information to central agencies handling overseas evacuations and support.

The 24×7 NRI Wing Control Room numbers issued are: 0172-2260042, 0172-2260043, and WhatsApp: +91 94787 79112. Officials said trained staff will coordinate requests, document cases, and guide families regarding procedures for assistance.

Government sources stated that liaison is underway with diplomatic channels to track the situation of Indian nationals and respond quickly to emergencies. They emphasised that priority will be given to cases involving medical needs, safety concerns, or individuals stranded in high-risk zones.

Authorities added that such helplines are activated during international crises to ensure real-time communication between affected citizens, state administrations, and central authorities. They urged people not to rely on unverified information circulating online and instead use official channels for updates and support.

Officials indicated that monitoring of the situation will continue, and additional measures may be announced depending on developments in the region and the number of assistance requests received.
