Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the scheme has been introduced to make religious travel easier and more accessible for elderly residents. He added that seeing the enthusiasm and happiness among the pilgrims reflected the positive response to the programme.
According to Dr. Singh, many of the participants expressed gratitude to the Punjab government for providing an opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage without financial or logistical difficulties. He said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that senior citizens can visit places of religious importance with dignity and convenience.
Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Bus Scheme is one of the state’s welfare initiative
The minister reiterated that the Bhagwant Mann-led government remains committed to introducing welfare measures for all sections of society. He said the administration is working to improve public services and implement programmes that directly benefit people across Punjab.
The Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Bus Scheme is one of the state’s welfare initiatives designed to facilitate organised pilgrimages for eligible residents. Officials said the programme seeks to make religious travel more inclusive, particularly for elderly citizens who may otherwise find it difficult to undertake such journeys on their own.
The government is expected to continue operating similar pilgrimage trips from different districts, allowing more beneficiaries to visit prominent religious destinations under the scheme.
