Bhagwant Mann: Continuing its aggressive drive against drug trafficking, Punjab Police has made significant progress on Day 397 of its ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh.”

As part of the sustained crackdown, police teams carried out multiple raids across the state, leading to the arrest of 89 drug smugglers. During the operations, authorities recovered 1.3 kg of heroin, 2.6 kg of opium, 34 kg of poppy husk, 853 intoxicant tablets and capsules, along with ₹3,050 identified as drug money.

Officials highlighted that the campaign is not only focused on arrests but also on rehabilitation. In the latest investigation, 29 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, reflecting a balanced approach towards enforcement and recovery.

Raids were conducted at multiple locations across Punjab, targeting both suppliers and local distribution networks. The operations are part of a broader strategy to dismantle drug supply chains and prevent the spread of narcotics in the region.

Cumulative Action So Far

With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended since the launch of the campaign has reached 56,625. This figure underscores the scale and consistency of the anti-drug efforts being undertaken by the state police.
