CM Bhagwant Mann Visits Golden Temple, Assures Swift Action Against Threat Email Senders

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar today, amid a spate of threatening emails targeting the revered Sikh shrine. During his visit, he paid his respects at the holy site and met with SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami and other members, assuring them of strict and prompt action against those behind the threats.

The Chief Minister stated that the IP addresses associated with the threatening emails have already been traced, and the administration is close to identifying and apprehending the accused. “We are very close to the culprits. The investigation is progressing rapidly, and arrests will be made soon,” Mann said.

No Compromise on Golden Temple\’s Security

Reiterating his commitment to protecting religious sites, CM Mann said, “There can be no compromise with the security of the Golden Temple.” He confirmed that emails threatening to damage the temple were sent from accounts associated with the domain Outlook.com, and authorities are working closely with cyber experts to trace the source and motive.

Mann also met with SGPC officials during his visit and assured them that strict measures are being taken. “Once the action begins, everyone will see it. Those who have issued these threats will face consequences that will set an example,” he added.

Police Deployment and Security Measures

A high level of security was seen during the Chief Minister’s visit, with plainclothes police personnel deployed in and around the temple complex. The state government has also reviewed the current security setup and is working to ensure no lapses occur in the future.

Pattern of Threats Under Investigation

The Golden Temple has received a series of threatening emails in recent days, some of which were also addressed to the Chief Minister himself. CM Mann acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and emphasized that the investigation will uncover the mastermind behind the threats.
