CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Importance of Strong Judiciary at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University Convocation

Supreme Court Justice Suryakant attended the event as the chief guest, where students took a pledge to uphold the principles of justice.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the fourth convocation ceremony of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) in Lucknow, where he congratulated the graduating students and emphasized the vital role of a strong judicial system in ensuring good governance.

During the ceremony, medals and degrees were distributed to meritorious students — 21 medals including gold, silver, and bronze were awarded, and 309 degrees were conferred. Supreme Court Justice Suryakant attended the event as the chief guest, where students took a pledge to uphold the principles of justice.

Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “A strong judicial system is the foundation of good governance. A society where there is no discrimination and where every individual receives equal opportunities based on merit truly embodies the spirit of justice and fairness.”

He lauded the university for its contribution to legal education and encouraged graduates to use their knowledge and values to strengthen the nation’s legal framework. The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s continuous efforts toward improving legal infrastructure and ensuring justice reaches every citizen.

University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amarpal Singh presented the institution’s progress report. Along with traditional medals, special recognition was given to students excelling in Taxation Law, Criminal Law, and Constitutional Law.

Among the toppers, Darshika Pandey received three medals, including the Padmavati Mohanlal Jariwala Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in Constitutional Law, while Abhyuday Pratap won two gold medals, including the K.K. Luthra Memorial Gold Medal.

Expressing her aspirations, Darshika said she wishes to become a judge and contribute to improving the justice system in India.
