Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was a frontline fighter and a fierce nationalist leader of the Indian independence movement. Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, was the largest Hinduist of the 20th century. Damodar Vinayak was also a staunch supporter of Swadeshi and Hindutva. Savarkar is also considered the ideal of Hinduist political parties of today. Vinayak Savarkar was the first person to have given the battle of 1857 the title of the first Indian freedom struggle.

He founded the Abhinav Bharat Society in Pune and later became part of the Swadeshi movement. After some time he joined the ̔svaraj Dal दल with Tilak. The British government had forfeited his bachelor’s degree due to his patriotic speech and the activities of the freedom movement. In June 1906, he moved to England to become a barrister and mobilized Indian students there to protest against British rule in India.
