Delhi’s air quality has once again dipped into dangerous territory, pushing residents indoors and raising concern among parents who fear sending their children to school. As pollution levels hit the hazardous category across the NCR, AAP leader Anurag Dhanda has launched a sharp attack on the BJP, questioning its approach towards the environment.

Dhanda, known for voicing strong opposition views, cited the Supreme Court’s latest remarks while targeting the ruling party. The apex court had recently slammed the BJP for cutting nearly 40 trees near its office, warning the party to shift the premises and calling the act environmentally irresponsible.

In his post on X, Dhanda quoted the Supreme Court’s observations and criticised the BJP for prioritising politics over ecological balance.

“प्रदूषण से लड़ना था लेकिन बीजेपी तो प्रकृति से ही लड़ने में लगी है।
विनाश काले विपरीत बुद्धि!”

Dhanda’s remarks come at a time when the capital’s residents are already struggling due to choking smog, stinging eyes, and breathing difficulties. His statement has sparked conversation on social media about accountability and environmental governance.

Toxic Air Engulfs Delhi-NCR

The situation worsened sharply across NCR on Wednesday morning. According to Central Pollution Control Board data, Noida Sector-26 recorded an AQI of 561, crossing the “severe” bracket and entering the “hazardous” category.

Faridabad, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Chandni Chowk, Akshardham, and several parts of New Delhi also reported alarming air quality levels. Pollution spikes have triggered health issues ranging from throat irritation to respiratory distress.

Authorities have begun emergency interventions, but the thick layer of smog continues to blanket NCR, threatening public health.
