Taking a step towards transparency in governance, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated the Easy Jamabandi Portal, a web-based application that aims to transform access to land records. With just a few clicks, residents of Punjab are now able to access the most important land records, including Jamabandi records, Khewat number, Khasra, and mutation status, without visiting a government office.

Communicated through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Bhagwant Mann described the initiative as a mark of clean governance and empowerment of citizens.

From Bureaucratic Queues to Digital Convenience

In the past, getting Punjab land records would mean laborious documentation, numerous trips to the office, and, in some cases, bribes. Easy Jamabandi Portal transforms this by allowing citizens to view their land ownership records online in Punjabi and English at any time of the day or night.

The system is of particular great benefit to farmers, property buyers, and NRIs, as they may now be able to check and download the land records remotely. The portal dramatically decreases the possibility of fraud, delays, and red tape by lessening the number of in-person visits and by cutting out the middleman.

The project falls under the wider citizen digital reform agenda by the Mann government to empower people with technology by introducing reforms in key services.

Transparency, Efficiency, and a New Era of Governance

The portal is responsive and user-friendly and has real-time updates, making it convenient to track the changes in land ownership or mutation status without difficulties. It also simplifies interdepartmental communication and makes the records up-to-date and error-free.

CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized that this portal does not simply imply a technical improvisation but a jump to honesty, accessibility, and justice. The days when people used to run pillar-to-post just to access their land documents are gone. As he put it today, the system goes to the people.

With more and more applause coming in, both from citizens and digital experts alike, the Easy Jamabandi Portal is a mighty stride towards clean, efficient, and citizen-first governance in Punjab.
