The Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi Municipal Corporation’s move to regularise Delhi’s 5,000 sanitation workers will be challenged in court by the Bharatiya Janata Party. During the campaign on Monday, MCD opposition leader Raja Iqbal Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party is passing the resolution in the MCD House illegally by avoiding the statutory committee. In this case, the Aam Aadmi Party will have to pay the price when the Bharatiya Janata Party goes to court.

Potential Halt in Regularization

The issue of the regularisation of 5,000 sanitation workers can become stalled once more in such a circumstance. On October 31, the Municipal Corporation House approved a plan to regularise 5,000 sanitation workers in spite of resistance from the opposition parties.
