A Glimpse into the World of Lalan Ram

Lalan Ram, who comes from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, extends a warm welcome to us. He shares his experiences of managing a tea shop and practicing tailoring. In his family, he resides in a small rented house with his wife and six children. His story exemplifies the resilience that can be cultivated in challenging circumstances.

Educational Challenges and Career Choices

Lalan Ram shares insights into his education, mentioning that he failed in the 10th grade and did not pursue further studies. However, he expresses a strong desire to provide a bright future for his children, and currently, all of them are engaged in their education.

Lallan Ram recounts how he came to Delhi from Bihar in search of a livelihood to support his family. Initially, he learned tailoring and then set up a small tea shop in Sector-6, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad. He emphasizes that his family sustains on this income wholeheartedly.

While discussing his family, Lalan Ram shared some of his experiences. When asked about his romantic life, he chuckled and mentioned that there is no romance left as he got married in the year 2000. He humorously adds that his goal is to provide a good life for his family.

When asked about what he wanted to become in his life, he responds that he initially wanted to serve people. Although he is currently involved in sewing worn-out clothes for people and serving the public by offering tea.

Expectations from the Government

On being asked about his expectations from the government, Lalan Ram expresses optimism and states that he has high hopes from the government. While appreciating Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he acknowledges the considerable facilitation for street vendors, saying that there have been significant improvements for people like him. He further expresses his hope that the government would consider granting him a permanent shop, emphasizing the stability it would bring to his business.
