Four Years of Dhami Government in Uttarakhand: A New Chapter of Development and Good Governance

Overall, the past four years under the Dhami government reflect a blend of policy innovation, governance reforms, and economic growth, shaping Uttarakhand.

Under the leadership of Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand has scripted a new chapter of development and good governance over the past four years, marked by decisive policies and effective implementation.

The government’s focus on strong governance, clear intent, and impactful execution has helped the state carve a distinct identity. Key initiatives ranging from the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to transparent recruitment processes, improved law and order, a growing economy, rising investments, women empowerment, and rural revitalization have contributed to positioning Uttarakhand as a model state.

First State to Implement UCC

One of the most significant achievements of the Dhami government has been the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, making Uttarakhand the first state in India to do so.

In addition, stricter land laws, anti-conversion legislation, and anti-riot provisions have strengthened the law and order framework. The government has also taken firm action against illegal encroachments, reclaiming over 12,000 acres of government land in the last four years.

The introduction of an anti-cheating law has restored public trust in the recruitment system, leading to more than 30,000 government job appointments during this period.

Strengthening the Economic Foundation

On the economic front, Uttarakhand has shown notable progress. The state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has risen to ₹3.81 lakh crore in 2024–25, while per capita income has reached ₹2.73 lakh.

The poverty rate has declined to 6.92 percent, and a growth rate of 7.23 percent reflects the strengthening of the state’s economic foundation. Increasing investments and improved fiscal indicators highlight a positive trajectory for long-term development.

Overall, the past four years under the Dhami government reflect a blend of policy innovation, governance reforms, and economic growth, shaping Uttarakhand into an emerging benchmark for other states.
