Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Ashok Leyland’s new EV plant in Lucknow, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, a member from the parliamentary constituency of Lucknow, co-inaugurated it. According to this, the occurrence symbolizes an important milestone in the transition to ‘green industry growth’ by the state.
Plant Details and Installed Capacities
The plant is situated in the Sarojini Nagar industrial area and is presently working on the manufacturing of electric commercial vehicles, mainly buses.It has an annual manufacturing capacity of 2,500 units, which will increase to 5,000 units through phased development.
Ashok Leyland set up the facility in only 14 months, thanks to the support of the state administration. This is the first manufacturing facility of this company in Uttar Pradesh.
CM’S COMMENTS ON TRANSFORMATION
Yogi Adityanath spoke of progress made since 2017.He also stated that prior to his own accession to power, there was lawlessness, an unwelcoming environment for investors, and even those investors present wanting to leave in Uttar Pradesh.
“Currently, the state is preferred not only among locals, but from across the world owing to the availability of strong ‘law and order’ and favorable ‘policies,’ and infrastructure development,” he said.
Focus on Jobs, Sustainability, and National Goals
The plant is supposed to generate direct and indirect employment for thousands of youth within the region. He linked the project to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ‘Viksit’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ by 2047, Make in India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
He emphasized that electric vehicles will definitely help solve a lot of global problems and provide further opportunities for sustainable development. While inaugurating the conclave, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh termed it a proud moment for him, saying Uttar Pradesh had emerged as a hub not only for industries but national security projects, comprising a defence industrial corridor.
Ashok Leyland Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja thanked the state’s reliable ecosystem for industrial development. This inauguration underlines the continuing industrial expansion in Uttar Pradesh and simultaneously ushers in a force for clean energy solutions.
