Honda Motorcycle and Scooter: According to the CEO of the company, Honda Motorbike and Scooter India, a flex-fuel motorcycle model will be introduced in India by the end of 2024.

Atsushi Ogata, CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, stated at the International Conference on Biofuels in New Delhi that “our internal aim is minimum, one model, the first model of flexi-fuel motorcycle to be launched by end-2024.”

According to Ogata, his business is awaiting a detailed plan from the government regarding flex-fuel vehicles.

According to the fuel standard, “all our engine line-ups can apply” the 20% ethanol blend.

Increasing demand

In order to promote the blending of increasing percentages of ethanol and components of vegetable oil with gasoline and diesel, India, the third-largest importer and consumer of oil in the world, has increased the excise duty exemption for biofuels.

India intends to begin blending 20% ethanol into gasoline in some regions of the country starting in April of next year, with a statewide rollout beginning in 2025 or 2026.
