Thread App: New and old Twitter competitors have found a user base in recent months that is eager to test out a brand-new text-based social network. People are experimenting with a variety of social media platforms, including Mastodon, Bluesky, Spill, and T2. Now, Meta has entered the fray with a significant launch connected to Instagram.
What is Thread App and how it is different from Twitter?
A text-based Twitter competitor from Meta is Threads. It is connected to your Instagram account, so you can sign up simply using your Instagram login information. Ads and premium tiers are not yet available on the app. Nevertheless, even if you pay for Meta Verified, your Instagram verification mark is transferred across. Users can use their Instagram network to find new accounts to follow. Although the app has only recently been released, it lacks Twitter-like features like extended videos, direct messages, and live audio rooms.
How to use it?
More than 100 nations presently provide the platform on iOS and Android devices. The app is temporarily unavailable in the EU owing to privacy concerns. You may follow everyone you follow because you are logging in using your Instagram account. Additionally, your username, name, and settings like a block list will be imported.

Threads has surpassed the 10 million signup mark within hours of launch and 30 million within 24 hours. Within just five days of its inception, Threads had 100 million users.
On the first day, Mark Zuckerberg observed that the app garnered 2 million new signups in just two hours, 5 million in just four hours, and 10 million new users in just seven hours. The CEO of Meta reported the following morning that over 30 million individuals had signed up to test the new software. Given that Threads hasn’t even opened in the EU yet due to privacy concerns, its rise is significant.
