Hyundai Kia recalls: A risk of fire in the engine compartment has led Hyundai and Kia to recall 3.3 million vehicles in the US, including the Sportage, K900, Optima, Sonata Hybrid, Accent, and many more. While Kia is currently working on a fix for the problem, Hyundai plans to alert car owners to head to their local shop to replace the ABS module fuse. In November of this year, it is anticipated that automobile owners would receive information about the recall of the defective models. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has encouraged car owners to park their vehicles outside of their residences.

NHTSA said, “Until these recalled vehicles have been repaired, the manufacturers say the safest place to park them is outside and away from homes and other structures. Fires can occur whether the vehicle is parked and turned off or while driving.”
And also “The vehicle’s anti-lock brake system module could leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short. An electrical short could result in significant overcurrent in the ABS module, increasing the risk of an engine compartment fire while driving or parked.”
Here are the cars Hyundai Kia recalls
Kia is recalling 1.73 million vehicles, including the Borrego, Cadenza, Forte, Sportage, K900, Optima, Soul Rio, Sorento, and Rondo, that were manufactured from 2010 to 2017. Hyundai is also recalling 1.64 million vehicles, including Elantra, Genesis Coupe, Sonata Hybrid, Accent, Azera, Veloster, Santa Fe, Equus, Veracruz, Tucson, Tucson Fuel Cell, and Santa Fe Sport models, from the 2011 to 2015 model years.
