Giving information on its social media platform X, the Income Tax Department wrote that "Once your bank account is validated / re-validated, you can submit a "Refund Reissue Request" on the e-filing portal. This request must be e-verified using one of the following methods: Aadhaar OTP, EVC (Electronic Verification Code), or DSC (Digital Signature Certificate)"
How Can You Request For Refund Reissue?
A taxpayer may utilize the Income Tax Department's refund reissue request service one more if he receives news from the Income Tax Department and Refund Banker that the taxpayer's refund process has been canceled. Let us inform you that there are three ways in which you can ask for a refund to be reissued. This comprises DSC (Digital Signature Certificate), EVC (Electronic Verification Code), and Aadhaar OTP.
Why is the Refund Request Cancelled?
- If the taxpayer has wrong information like account number, MICR code, IFSC code etc., the refund request may get cancelled.
- The account holder's KYC is not complete.
- The issued bank details are not of current or savings bank account.
How to Request for Refund Reissue?
- Taxpayers must first go to incometax.gov.in, the Income Tax Department's official website.
- To log in, you must input the necessary data, which includes your user ID.
- Go to Refund Reissue Request after logging in. go to the request for a refund reissue.
- A list of outstanding reimbursements for various fiscal years will be given to you.
- Next, select the Refund Re-issue option.
- To continue, click Create New Request.
- Decide which bank account the refund should be deposited into.
- Go to Profile > Bank Account > Verify them if you do not see any bank accounts.
- The request for a refund reissue will be confirmed with a success message.
The taxpayer can then monitor the progress of the request for a refund reissue. It is important to note that incorrect bank information frequently results in the cancellation of taxpayers' refund requests, causing them to encounter several difficulties.
