Indian Railways: Holi is one of India’s most famous and celebrated festivals. During the festival of colours, many people including students and employees make a return to their native places and often struggle to get confirmed rail tickets for their journey.
Indian Railways Announces 62 New Trains
The Moradabad Railway Division of Indian Railways has announced 62 special trains his holi to handle the massive surge in travel across different parts of North India. The services would start in the first week of February till the end of March.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aditya Gupta confirmed 62 trains (31 pairs) would operate for the Holi festival period.
Gupta remarked the Moradabad Railway Division has started operating 62 Holi special trains, which will run until the end of March in view of the increasing crowds for Holi.
Gupta remarked that though this may seem a small margin but it would act as a relief measure during a period of heavy passenger movement when demand and fares tend to rise together. Gupta added more trains may be launched soon, if required.
The special Holi trains would have stoppages at major stations within the railway division like Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Haridwar, Morabada and Yog Nagri Rishikesh.
Gupta said our important stations like Rishikesh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Moradabad and Bareilly see heavy movement.
