Inspirational Stories: 1947 was a year. Even though India had recently achieved independence from the British, the nation was still suffering from the effects of the Partition. Thousands of people had died, and millions more had been displaced. During this turmoil, Vinod Agarwal was born into a low-income family in a tiny village in Madhya Pradesh. Vinod had to grow up in poverty as his suffering family, who had lost everything in the partition, struggled to make ends meet.
However, Vinod was a tenacious child. He began working at a young age, took various jobs, and eventually formed Agarwal Coal because he wanted to raise his family's standard of living. Agarwal Coal is currently one of India's major coal importers. They obtain their coal from mines in Australia, South Africa, Indonesia, and the United States. Additionally, Agarwal Coal obtains coal from within India. Agarwal Coal used to limit its imports of coal to those with a gross as received (GAR) of at least $5,000. But when coal prices increased, Agarwal Coal recognised a chance to import coal with a GAR of 4,200. According to CEO Magazine, they reached an agreement with an Indonesian mine to import six million metric tonnes of this lower-quality coal over the course of three years.
The majority of Agarwal Coal's customers are in the private sector, including well-known companies like Tata Group, Aditya Birla Group, IPPs, and most significant captive power plants. In the boiler business, they have customers who place orders ranging from 500 tonnes to 500,000 tonnes. Additionally, the CEO refers to Agarwal Coal as a "solutions provider," which means they may modify their services to satisfy the unique requirements of their customers, the magazine continued. Vinod Agarwal, the wealthiest person in Madhya Pradesh, faced numerous obstacles to succeed. Rajratan Global Wire's MD, Sunil Chouradia, is listed as being in position 389 on the list. A unicorn business from Indore named EKI Energy Services has also made the list for the first time. The company's director, Manish Dabkara, is placed 459th. Devendra Jain and Dilip Suryavanshi both work for the Dilip Buildcon Company, and both are ranked 681 and 950 respectively, according to the survey.
