Iran Unrest: Nationwide protests in Iran have grown and it seems that the protests that started with the downfall of Iranian Rial may now bring the world and US President Donald Trump to the World War III. But is the world ready for a large-scale war between some of the most powerful nations? Would this lead to bloodshed on the streets of Iran? Who all would come to Iran’s rescue – China, Russia and which all countries?
Iran Puts IRGC on Maximum Alert
Iran has put the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on high alert. Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has asked the IRGC to maintain the highest level of readiness, even exceeding the alert status during the 12-day war in June 2025 with Israel.
This includes raising and activating the readiness of the Islamic Republic’s network of ballistic missiles, launchers and related systems.
Iran’s top general Amir Hatami has reiterated his loyalty to the regime. Hatami remarked the enemy is trying to disrupt the order and peace of our cities. The General added that Islamic Republic of Iran Army urges its aware and brace nation to foil the enemy’s conspiracies so their sinister goals are thwarted.
Meanwhile, Khamenei has threatened death penalty for anyone who is seen participating in the nationwide protests.
This threat made many social media users share an old clip of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who had urged Iranians to fight for their right to freedom. Netanyahu remarked in the video that the regime of Khamenei fears the people of Iran more than Israel.
The exiled Crown Prince of Iran – Reza Pahlavi – has urged Iranians to protest in full force against atrocities of the Iranian regime. Pahlavi urged workers in oil, gas and energy sectors to start nationwide strike and for mass demonstrations.
Chinese, Russian And Iranian Joint Drill
Chinese, Russian and Iranian warships have arrived in South Africa as geopolitical tensions run high after Iran unrest, seizure of several oil tankers and US’s military intervention in Venezuela. Russia Navy is likely to train IRGC with advanced Russian weapons, anti-aircraft missiles and radars.
Iran’s largest naval vessel, IRIS Makran, is there alongside Chinese warships and with Russian vessels. The defence force of South Africa remarked that the joint military operations would help the navies improve joint operational capabilities and exchange best practices.
In a statement on X, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad said the United States is engaging in psychological warfare, threats of military intervention, a media campaign to disseminate false information and incitement to terrorism and violence.
The statement added that these US measures are in complete violation of the United Nations Charter, the fundamental foundations of the International Human Rights System and peremptory norms of international law.
US Air Force C-17 On The Hunt
US Air Force C-17 “Globemaster” is flying to the Middle East from Germany. This versatile, heavy strategic and tactical airlifter can deliver oversized cargo such as Abrams tanks and troops using thrust reversers and powered lift for short takeoffs and steep landings.
The US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III can operate from rough strips and can carry a high payload (170,000 lbs).
U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker was also refuelling and was seen flying from Al Udeid Air Base through the Persian Gulf and Iraqi airspace.
China Pledges Support To Khamenei
China has offered military assistance to Iran to protect the country’s sovereignty against external-backed thugs and criminals.
The Asian superpower said it would help the Iranian government with financial, intelligence, technical or military assistance.
