Kerala announces complete lockdown

The Kerala government on Thursday announced a full lockdown in the state.

Restrictions will be implemented from May 8 to overcome the Corona pandemic, which will remain in place until May 16. In the last 24 hours more than 42 thousand new cases were reported in Kerala, after which the decision to lockdown was taken.

Apart from this, the positivity rate has been more than 25 percent in many districts of the state.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, restrictions and travel were banned in the state to overcome the corona, but a lockdown was announced if the situation did not improve.

Vijayan said, ‘The state is going through a very serious situation and Covid-19 is spreading very fast. All figures are increasing and the infection rate is also not decreasing in the investigation. In these circumstances, we need strict restrictions. ”

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that in view of the increasing cases of infection, more drastic steps will be taken.

Strict restriction like lockdown is already in the state. The Chief Minister said that apart from state government agencies and political parties, private agencies will also be allowed to work in relief work.

Corona virus cases in India are breaking a new record every day and on Thursday 4,12,262 new cases of infection were recorded and 3,980 people lost their lives.

With this, the total cases of infection increased to 2,10,77,410 and the number of dead reached 2,30,168.
