DNP India extends warm birthday wishes to Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra (Chancellor of Shobhit University, Meerut and Gangoh) as he turns a year older today. A social entrepreneur and educationist based in New Delhi, he has spent over 3 decades empowering youth through education, health and social initiatives.
How Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra Has Revolutionised Education And Inspired Many
As Co-founder and Chancellor of Shobhit University, Kunwar Shekhar has played a key role in creating institutions that combine academic excellence with holistic development. The university has grown under his leadership, offering diverse programs and fostering innovation and research.
Beyond education, he serves as Chairman of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Education and Patron of the Centre for Education Growth & Research (CEGR). His work extends to various social initiatives aimed at supporting underprivileged communities.
Kunwar Shekhar established the Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra Ayurved Medical College & Research Centre in Gangoh. The college combines traditional Ayurvedic practices with modern research, contributing to alternative healthcare in the region.
He has represented India at international forums in countries including the USA, UK, Germany, Australia, and China. His work focuses on promoting education, diplomacy, and cross-cultural understanding.
Kunwar Shekhar’s efforts have been widely recognised. In 2024, he received the ‘Saharanpur Gaurav Samman’ during the Mela Gughal celebrations, honouring his contributions to education and enhancing Saharanpur’s global stature.
His Vision For The Future
On September 19, 2025, he spoke at the 2nd International Conference on Transforming Higher Education & Skilling towards Viksit Bharat @2047 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. He talked about AI and merging technologies for the future workforce (Industry 5.0).
He said that building a future-ready India needs strong teamwork between universities, industry, and government. He stressed the importance of curricula that include AI, data, ethics, and sustainability, along with apprenticeships, supportive policies, digital infrastructure, and innovation hubs that mix traditional knowledge with modern technology.
Kunwar Shekhar also highlighted the need to empower rural youth with AI and new technologies. He said Industry 5.0 should focus on people, inclusion, and values, not just machines. He added, “Technology can empower, but it can also divide. AI must be used to make learning more accessible to everyone.”
