LPG Shortage Addressed!India is currently experiencing a shortage of LPG cylinders, leaving many households struggling to book timely refills. Reports from early March 2026 indicate that phone lines at gas agencies are overwhelmed, and consumers face long waiting periods.
DON'T MISS
Officials say the domestic supply is being prioritised to ensure essential household needs are met. However, high demand and logistical challenges have caused extended delays in several regions.
Method 1: WhatsApp Booking
Several gas providers now offer WhatsApp-based booking to help consumers avoid long queues. For instance, Indane users can send “REFILL” or “Book” to 7588888824 from their registered mobile number.
Upon confirmation, users receive a WhatsApp message acknowledging the booking. This method is also available for HP Gas and Bharat Gas customers.
Method 2: Missed Call or IVRS
A simple missed call to the provider’s IVRS number is another option. Indane customers can dial 7718955555 from their registered number and follow the voice prompts to confirm a refill.
Method 3: SMS Booking
SMS booking is another convenient option. Consumers can text “REFILL” to the designated number for their LPG provider, which is usually available on the gas bill or provider app.
Method 4: App or Online Portal
LPG Shortage Addressed! Official apps and web portals make digital booking seamless. Users can access apps such as IndianOil ONE (for Indane), myBPCL (for Bharat Gas), or third-party apps like Paytm.
Logging in with your LPG ID or consumer number, selecting the refill option, and paying via UPI allows quick and trackable booking.
