Maruti Suzuki Swift 4th Generation: Evolutionary design, powerful engine and excellent fuel efficiency make this the best buy

Maruti Suzuki Swift 4th Generation: Suzuki’s fourth-generation Swift hatchback has been observed testing frequently lately, and the internet is flooded with images of the next hatchback. Having said that, we anticipate the all-new Suzuki Swift hatchback to go on sale before the end of the year.

Leading Since 2005

Regarding the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the hatchback’s first model made its debut in India in 2005. Maruti Suzuki introduced the second generation Swift hatchback in the nation six years later, and this model was available there for seven years before Maruti Suzuki introduced the third generation Swift hatchback in early 2018.

The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback is already undergoing thorough testing in Europe, just 4 years after the third generation model was first introduced. As a result, we anticipate that this model will debut in India sometime in 2024.

Design

Under the thick camouflage stickers, the 2019 Suzuki Swift, now in its fourth generation, appears to display an evolutionary design language. Pull-back headlamps with LED DRLs, a stronger shoulder line that seamlessly blends with the tail lamp, a new clamshell bonnet resembling an SUV, a large front grille, large outside rear-view mirrors, lower and wider air intakes, more pronounced wheel arches, larger alloy wheels, and a sizable roof-mounted spoiler are some of the changes that are noticeable. It’s also important to note how similar the Suzuki Swift’s first-generation rear end seems to the second-generation Swift.

Additionally, it appears that the Swift’s wheelbase has been significantly extended for the fourth generation to increase interior room and high-speed stability. The model also appears a little bit lower and wider than usual. All of these characteristics give the incoming second-generation Suzuki Swift a more responsible attitude.

When it comes to mature design elements, the next 4th generation Swift appears to have rear door handles that are more traditional in style. This takes away from the hatchback’s youthful appeal and gives it a more upscale look.

Features

As the hatchback will be built on an upgraded version of Suzuki’s Heartect platform with a greater focus on safety, we anticipate the incoming 4th generation Suzuki Swift to be loaded with a long list of amenities and cutting-edge safety systems.

As a result, we anticipate that the 4th generation Suzuki Swift hatchback’s feature list will resemble that of the recently released Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback and Grand Vitara SUV, including features like a 360-degree surround-view camera, heads-up display, rear AC vents, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as a few others.

Engine

While there are two engine options available for the Suzuki Swift in international countries, there is only one engine option available for the third-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift offered in India. A 1.2-liter, normally aspirated engine with 89 bhp and 113 nm of maximum torque makes up this drivetrain. Additionally, this engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT transmission.

Suzuki also offers a more potent 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with 110bhp of power and 160Nm of torque, which is also offered in overseas markets. To keep the cost of production low, we anticipate the fourth generation of the hatchback to be available with the tried-and-true 1.2-litre powertrain.

The Suzuki Swift Sport, which is sold in international countries, has a more potent 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 128 bhp at its peak and 230 nm of torque.

Given the fierce competition in India’s hatchback market, we anticipate the fourth-generation Swift to be introduced there by the end of 2024 after making its premiere abroad.
