Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved ₹3,295.76 crore under the Special Assistance to States/Union Territories for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme to elevate 40 prominent tourist destinations to global standards. This move aims to bolster tourism, employment, trade, and the country's cultural heritage.
In Madhya Pradesh, Orchha, known for its medieval splendor, and an International Convention Centre for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) in Bhopal will be developed as world-class iconic centers. The initiative is expected to enhance the state’s cultural and economic standing.
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for their pivotal roles in securing this funding. The project is anticipated to uplift India’s tourism sector, further promoting its rich heritage and boosting the local economy.
